Call for Special Sessions

Introduction
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite proposals for Special Sessions to be held at the 2026 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Science (AI4Science 2026), which will take place on October 23–25, 2026 in Shenzhen, China. The Special Sessions aim to provide a focused forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss emerging topics, cutting-edge technologies, and interdisciplinary applications that align with the conference scope but deserve deeper exploration in a dedicated setting.
We encourage proposals that introduce innovative ideas, foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, and attract high-quality original research contributions. Both experienced researchers and early-career scholars are welcome to submit proposals.

Special Sessions are expected to cover, but are not limited to, the following emerging and hot topics aligned with the AI4Science 2026 scope:
AI Foundations for Science
AI Technologies and Tools
AI for the Physical Sciences
AI for Chemistry & Materials
AI for the Life Sciences
AI for Earth & Environmental Sciences
AI for Engineering & Applied Sciences
AI for Mathematics & Computation
AI for Social Sciences & Humanities
Responsible & Open Science
Note: Proposals on other interdisciplinary or frontier topics within the AI and Computer Engineering domain are also highly welcome.
Responsibilities of Organizers
The organizer(s) of an approved Special Session are expected to:
Promote the Session: Actively disseminate the Call for Papers to their professional networks, research communities, and mailing lists to attract high-quality submissions.
Paper Solicitation and Recommendation: Publicize the session theme and encourage high-quality contributions. All manuscripts submitted to the Special Session will be subject to a unified peer-review process managed by theAI4Science Conference Committee, with each paper reviewed by two or three experts from the committees, ensuring fairness, professionalism, and timeliness.
Chair the Session:Attend the conference in person and chair the scheduled session.
Finalize the Program:Collaborate with the conference committee to finalize the session program and camera-ready versions of accepted papers.
Proposal Submission Guidelines
A complete Special Session proposal must be submitted as a single PDF file via email to the Special Session Chairs and should include the following information:

Organizers' Information: Name(s), affiliation(s), title(s), email(s), and a short biography of the organizer(s) (1–3 organizers).

Important Dates

Notification of Proposal Acceptance:July 31, 2026
Publication and Indexing
All accepted papers from both the main conference and Special Sessions will be published in theAI4Science 2026 Conference Proceedings and submitted for indexing to EI Compendex and Scopus.
Important Notes
All submitted articles should report original research results, experimental or theoretical, not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Any act of plagiarism or other misconduct is totally unacceptable and cannot be tolerated.
